DV-1394 Issues and Windows 7 1394 Host Controller Driver

Postby Support » Mon Oct 11, 2010 5:55 pm

If you are experiencing DV-1394 capture or export to tape issues, make sure that all drivers on your system are up to date (such as display, chipset, sound, and BIOS), and that you have the latest Windows updates. On a Windows 7 system, you must also change the 1394 host controller driver on your system as follows:

1. In Control Panel, choose Hardware and Sound > Device Manager.
2. Double-click IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers.
3. Right-click the name of your 1394 host controller, and choose Update Driver Software.
4. When prompted, select Browse my computer for driver software.
5. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
6. In the provided dialog box, make sure that Show compatible hardware is selected, and from the list of available device drivers, select 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy).
7. Click Next to install the driver.
